No, all UT Dallas students interested in accounting are encouraged to join ALA.
Can I become a member of ALA during my first semester?
Yes, students can become a member of ALA any time throughout their studies at UT Dallas.
Is ALA open to undergraduate or graduate students?
ALA is open to both undergraduate and graduate students.
What are the steps to become a member?
To become a member, complete the membership application by clicking "apply" in the Membership section of the website, then pay the membership dues online or by cash/check to our to our advisor, Mary Guan, in JSOM 4.421.
What is the deadline to register to become a member of ALA?
There is no deadline for registration.
Can I attend ALA's meetings if I am not a registered member?
Only registered members can attend ALA meetings.
I just submitted the membership application. When will my registration be confirmed?
You should receive an email confirmation within 24 hours of submitting your application. Please email us at if you do not receive confirmation within 24 hours.
When will I receive my free T-shirt?
After you have submitted your application and paid the membership dues, you will receive your T-shirt at an upcoming meeting. Please speak to an officer at the next meeting for more information regarding T-shirts.
